The 9721 series media converter converts electrical Ethernet networks into optically inherently safe “op is” Ethernet networks, allowing installation and maintenance work to be conducted on fibre optics in Zones 0, 1 and 2 without the need for downtime (hot swapping/hot working). It is particularly suitable for the IS1+ Ethernet remote I/O system. The extremely compact media converter may also be installed in Zone 2.
