R. STAHL’s 8171 series cable bushings comprise a duct bolt that is encapsulated with high-quality, non-tracking epoxy resin along with a ring nut to form an inseparable unit. The bushings are inserted in the enclosure wall such that they prevent the transmission of an internal ignition and are insulated from the enclosure wall. This allows power to be safely supplied to Ex d enclosures. If flexibility is a concern, you need look no further, as the cable bushings are available with a choice of connection types: Split-post connections, clamps and soldered connections.
The clamping points projecting into the connection chamber enclosure comply with the requirements pertaining to enhanced creepage distances and clearances set out in IEC/EN 60079-7. During installation, you will need to take measures to ensure that the cable bushings do not work loose.
