BARCODE READERS FOR HAZARDOUS AND SAFE AREAS

Barcode scanners are used for many different tasks – R. STAHL’s IDM device series enables you to use this comfortable method of data capture in hazardous areas, too. Our scanner process 1-D barcodes (series IDM 160), 2-D barcodes (series IDM 260) and stacked codes and can be connected with a cable or wirelessly with Bluetooth.

HAZARDOUS AND SAFE AREAS

R. STAHL’s RFID readers are used as proximity readers in hazardous areas for reading and transmitting data. Be it ID-cards, key fobs or other media, the areas of application for this HMI technology are diverse; all that’s needed is a transponder 13.56 MHz and protocol types LEGIC, MIFARE, DESFire or EV1. The explosion-protected versions of our readers (UB03) are ATEX, IECEx and KGS certified for zones 1, 2, 21, 22 and can be directly connected to the serial or USB interfaces of our operating devices. The versions for safe areas are directly connected to USB interfaces. Transmit data securely with CRYPT encryption, optionally also openly with the ASCII protocol.

INLINE DISPERSING MACHINE ON MULTIPLE STORIES

A leading pharmaceutical company wanted to use a mobile inline dispersing machine on multiple storeys of a building, in different locations of Zone 1 hazardous areas. With R. STAHL’s assistance, machine builder Ystral was able to develop a successful solution for this requirement, which also involved connections to the existing distributed control system.
